Tres bon, je crois que vous l'avez traduit bien.! I looked at the scan and you are right..It is an H. I read so many of these entries that I get used to the writing...When I can't.... I compare other letters in the same entry, and sure enough, right below her name is Charbonneau with the exact same H. So, for sure, the priest WAS writing H'Aboire. This is very interesting.....Now we will wonder if the priest knew how to spell her name.
I had an email from another researcher that told me that she thought Elizabeth/Isabell was married before Jean. To Jacques Aboire/H'aboire. She was a widow and a countess. Her maiden name was Dumas. Have you run into this?
I could'nt make out the parish name on the scan...
