I have a Jacob Cheadle in Pike County, MO.. I am a decendant of his brother Jim, whom I have been unable to find before he and Jake moved to western Washinton state in the early 1900's. I knew Jake, he was a civil war veteran and died in Olympia, Thurston County, I believe, or it may have been Mason County, Washington. The Seattle Times had a write up on him and his service connection in the 50's. Jim's daughter Mattie was my paternal grandmother. I have been led to believe that Jim and his family, including Mattie, lived in or near McCune, or McCurr, Pike County, Missouri & that Mattie was badly burned over the right side of her body when about 12 years old. She was putting wood in the old wood cookstove and her dress caught fire. An old family joke is that all of her 9 children had lop-sided heads because she nursed them all on one breast. The right one never did develope because opf the scars from the burn. Regards,. Paul Can anyone help with locating Jim and family and/or any of their predecessors
