Jacob & John Childres/Childers/Childress in Greenville Co., SC, 1790

Can anyone give me information about Jacob Childres and John Childres who were in the 1790 Greenville Co., South Carolina, census? They lived very near my Cannon family, whose name was spelled Kennon in that census. A second John Childres and a Robert Childres were also in the 1790 Greenville Co., SC, census. They were Russell Cannon/Kennon and his brother William. I think my Cannons, whose father was named Simcock Cannon, might have been related to Jacob and John and may have been descended from John Cannon & Hester Pledge of Henrico Co., VA. Hester's second husband was Abraham Childers.
