My g-grandfather was William Henry Phears, born 6/12/1856 of Washington & Lee Counties, TX. His father was Pleasant Phears, born 1828 in Ralls County, MO, son of Absolom Fears/Phears (changed spelling of his name) & Sarah Jane Blankenship Fears/Phears.
I live in TX & have thus far relied on info posted to various forums, census records, etc.
I have a couple of questions - everyone shows Absalom Fears/Phears being born 8/9/1797 in Prince Edward County, VA to father: Pleasant Fears/Phears & mother Isabell Childress Fears/Phears. But all of the posts & info regarding the marriage of Pleasant & Isabell say they were married in 1800 in Pittsylvania county, VA. Was Absolom really born in 1797? Or was he from a previous union? Or born after the marriage in 1800?
Also - would love to have information as to whom the parents of Pleasant (married to Isabell Childress) and Isabell Childress, were, and where they came from (country) and any other information about them.
