Benjamin Franklin Marion Childress

Does anyone out there know the parents of this man? I have decided that he may not have had any; I think he just walked in out of the mist one day!

He was born on 5-14-1831 in either South Carolina, Georgia, or Alabama (census records disagree). His father was born in South Carolina; his mother was born in Georgia - according to census records.

He married Mary Elizabeth Coats in Meridian, MS on 1-24-1858. She died in 5-22-1892 in Montgomery, TX. And he married again on 8-20-1893, Mrs. Sally E. Long, a widow.

He died 6-18-1913 in Cottonwood, Callahan Co., TX.

He seldom ever used his first name of Benjamin; being known usually as Franklin Marion Childress, and often by the initials of F.M. only.

Any help in identifying his parents and earlier ancestry would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot of information on his descendants if anyone is interested. But I would still like to prove that he did not just appear out of a fog, that he really did have parents like everyone else!
