Hello Charles,

Thanks for your letter, I'll do another instalment of the Churm family tree for you, perhaps Monday.

I'm not sure myself about Alfred, son of your uncle Alfred. He was born a bit out of the usual area, Leeds I seem to recall, but he was born as Churm, mother's maiden name Harling, either the same year or the year after the marriage of Alfred, so both by Christian name and mother's maiden surname, he is pretty likely.

Churm is not a common name by any means, though the Churms of Castleford have to be congratulated in their sterling efforts to try to make it one!

Got any idea if your Uncle Frederick married a Miss Sitdown, no leg pull, that's the surname against the only Frederick Churm marriage I can find in the right generation in the Pontefract area.
