I found John C Chase's obit and was wondering if someone could give me some light on a few things I found. Here is what the obit has to say, but it isn't the best copy so I have had to translate it the best I could. If you have an idea what the answers is I would appreciate your help.
Here is what I can read:
John C. Chase War Vetern Camden, Dies.
September 1, 1863, Mr Chase enlisted at ------- ------ in
Company A 110th regiment New York Light Artillery but afterwards was transferred to the Heavy Artillery. He was mustered out in 1865 at the close of the war.
I can not tell from the obit where John enlisted because of the old paper and ink.
"John C. Chase, an old and respected citizen and member of J.Parsons Stone Post G.A. R." Will you give me some idea about that statement.
I appreciate any help you are able to give
