Which of these SC regt.'s would be in VA "under Gen. J.E.B. Stuart?

Hello list,
Mr. J. C. Belcher's tombstone in Rocky Mount Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Bossier Parish, LA bears this inscription: "He served in VA under Gen. J.E.B. Stuart".

I have three possibilites:
J.C. Belcher, Pvt. Co G, 2nd SC Cav
J.C. Belcher, Pvt. Co C, Inf Rgt, Holcombe Legion, SC
J. Clinton Belcher, Pvt. Co C, 7th Rgt SC Inf

Can some knowledgable person look at these regiments & know which one was most likely to be in VA under Gen. JEB Stuart? It would have to be the 2nd SC Cavalry, right??
