Rick,
I found him in the census as "Nabers" and the occupation was "Lawyer". Looking back at the service records documents I have, it looks like HE spelled his name "Nabers" as well, so that's what I'm going with. I know the census takers weren't very good at spelling names right - I've come across a few of those myself - but I just wanted to make sure the name and occupation were close enough to be my guy.
