Thank you for your reply, Rick. Would it be possible for you to check the roster for the Escort for General Gideon Pillow? I am aware that they changed units often and that General Forrest may have moved him into Holman's unit as well.

I have written to the historian who validated his Confederate service for the cemetery in which he is buried (Oak Grove, in Paducah, McCracken County, KY). Hopefully, he will share where he found the documentation.

I appreciate your searching for me so faithfully and thoroughly.
