www.civilwardata.com has info from the Soldiers of Florida in the CW, and Biographical Rosters of Florida's Soldiers.

John F. Avery, enlisted as a private in Campbelltown, FL as a private on 5-5-63. Wounded at Weldon Railroad,VA 8-21-64. Furloughed 9-3-64 Richmon d, VA. Surrendered 4-10-65 at Lynchburg, VA.

Described at enlistment as born in 1842, residence Columbus, AL, 5' 6", fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair.
