Following are the known"facts" from an old family letter about Thomas Woods:

born: 11-16-1848 Tennessee
Died: 8-21-1925 Newman, Kentucky
1889 Membership: Oak Grove Baptist Church Utica,Ky.
burial:Providence Methodist Church Cemetery,Philpot, Ky.
Military: Enlisted in the 12th Regiment cavalry. "He enrolled 8-15-1862, mustered11-17-1862 at Owensboro, Ky.
Mustered out 8--25-1865 at Louisville, Ky. Was captured
near Mariion, Va. 12-16-1864, returned 6-5-1865 This regiment was organized at Caseyville and Owensboro, Ky.
11-17-1862"
Married: In 9-3-66 to Mary Fanny Crabtree (1846-1932)
Children: Albert, Georgia, Mandie, Jennie, Wiley, Bedie Lula, Willie, Gladys, and Lee.
