Preston Bledsoe of Scott County VA enrolled in a company recruited by Capt. James S. Haynes, Apr. 5, 1862. The company was assigned to duty as Co. "D", 21st Virginia Battalion, and stationed at Sulpher Springs VA. The battalion later formed part of the 64th Virginia Regiment, this company becoming Co. "D".

There are no rolls for the period between April 5, 1862, and Nov. 24, 1862. Evidently Preston Bledsoe left the company during this period and never returned to service. His name does appear on the 1870 census for Scott County VA, so he did not die during the war.

Please contact me if you need a copy of the single record on file for this man.
