searching for info about this Hugh COCHRAN who was born c1810 prob. in Co. Londonderry, Nor. Ireland possibly in the Coleraine area who married "Sarah" and they had a son David b. in Ireland who married Rachel Rebecca MOODY who was born in Co. L'derry, NI in 1836 and they came to Kings Co., Nova Scotia, CAN.
Rachel is a daughter of Israel MOODY and Elizabeth CASKIE who also came from the Coleraine, Co. L'derry, NI area to Kings Co., Nova Scotia.
David COCHRAN's middle name is given as RANKIN in some cases, but I'm not sure about this, however it caught my eye because some of our intermarried Ydna family also married into the RANKIN family that came from Nor. Ireland to America.
Our MOODY's married into the McQUISTON family who came from the Limavady, Co.L'derry, (Coleraine, Macosquin, poss. the Magilligan area we are still trying to prove our links to the Moody's that hail from there, but Genealogy-wise it sure looks like we), and other areas of Co. L'derry.
They came to Nor. America in c1735. We have other ties to the Cochran family and several other surnames that all seem to be found among these early Scot-Irish families to America of the 1700's.
If anyone has further info on Hugh COCHRAN's family tree, I would be Most interested as I am trying to find the inter-connections between our families.
Thank You.
