Hugh Sr. and son Andrew Herron of PA and OH

I have "documented" (key word) my Cochran family line to my 3x Great Grandfather Andrew Herron Cochran b.1 Jan 1791 Kentucky d. 8 Aug 1837 married (18 may 1813 Ross Co., Ohio) to Susannah Platter of the Johann Platter family. I know Andrew's father was Hugh Cochran Sr. of PA (w. Hannah Herron d. 30 Aug 1867) who died 2 Aug. 1829 and is buried in Champlain, OH. Hannah died in Clay Co., IL while living with my GG Grandfather. My problem is with Hugh Sr. I only have bits and pieces of info on the old man. Family journals indicate his father was a John Sr. and that his father was possibly a James. That John Sr. and Jr. served in the Rev. War. John and his brother Hugh traveled to Ky in Boone's era and crossed over into Ross Co., OH. John and Hugh were some of the first settlers of the Ohio valley. Nothing documented before Andrew Herron other than family lore, maybe's and hearsay. Any help would be appreciated.

Lt. Leon and Karen Cochran, USN (Ret.) (Mustang)
