I am trying to connect my ggrandfather John Reed Ccochran born in Charlotte, NC in 1836 to Robert Cochran Born 1771 in PA and died in North Carolina in 1851. Robert Cochran's will indicated that he had a deceased son named John whose widow was Sarah. Robert also mentioned several grandsons, one of which was John. I believe that the grandson John is my grandfather - John Reed. One reason is that Robert's wife was Letitia Reed. However, I have been unable to find any information to prove the connection.
