Try the Canadian censuses. The 1st was in 1851. From one or more of these you should find the names of your 1st generation immigrants. The info should also list info from which you can compute DOBs.

The surname Cochran isn't very numerous in Ireland. It is likely Scots-Irish. 2/3 rds of the 1,800 B rcds for this name are in northern Ireland counties. The protestants weren't very diligent in keeping rcds. They didn't really begin to do so until 1845. Even when compelled by law, they were slipshod. Hence, mandatory civil registration was adopted in 1864.
