Hello Jean, I have just found your message online. AGNES WOOD NICHOLLS was the younger sister of my great-grandfather Benjamin Nicholls (born 1849 at Penzance, Cornwall). Agnes was born at Penzance in 1854. They were the children of John and Sophia Nicholls of Penzance. In 1873, Agnes left Penzance to go and live in Liverpool, where her elder sister Mary Agatha Nicholls was living. Mary Agatha Nicholls married James Robert Dustin Turpin who was originally from St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands, and he is one of the witnesses on the marriage certificate of Agnes and David, who were married on 29 November 1874 at St. Nicholas Church, Liverpool (I have a copy of the marriage certificate). David's father is recorded on their marriage certificate as James Cochrane, Coach painter. Also, in 1861 Belfast/Ulster Street Directory there is listed at 21 Murphy Road, Belfast a James Cochrane, Coach painter. David and Agnes Cochrane had in all, I believe eight children: JAMES COCHRANE born 1875 at Liverpool; DAVID EDWARD COCHRANE born 1880 at Liverpool, died 1881 at Liverpool; MARY E COCHRANE born 11 June 1882 at Liverpool, died 12 Feb 1968 at Wellington, Somerset, UK; SOPHIA NICHOLLS COCHRANE born 1884 at Liverpool; JOHN NICHOLLS COCHRANE born 1886 at Liverpool; DAVID COCHRANE born 25 Jan 1889 at Liverpool, died 1950; AGNES NICHOLLS COCHRANE born 1891 Liverpool, died 1892 Liverpool; CHRISTINA EVELYN COCHRANE born 1894 Liverpool. I have an on-line family tree, to which I will give you a link. The Cochrane family appear on that. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/c/h/o/Mary-E-Chown/index.html I hope that the above link will work. Otherwise, contact me at MChown@AOL.com and I will send you another link. Hope to have been of some help to you. Kind regards, Mary (Chown nee Nicholls) Notify Administrator about this message?
