Seeking parents of Henry Cochrane d. 1774 (of illness) Wyoming Valley, PA and his brother Charles Cochrane. Henry's son, Henry, Jr. was born 1759. At age 15 Henry, Jr was captured by the Sencas in 1774 shortly after his father died. He had one sister, Eleca. Henry spent 4 years in captivity with the Senecas of New York. His story is told in the books "The White Seneca" and "At Seneca Castle". After his escape (1777-8) he became a scout for Gen. George Washington's army under Gen. John Sullivan. When Gen. Sullivan led the raids against the Iroquois Confederacy "Six Nations", Henry warned the Indians so they could evacuate before the burning of their villages and crops. He also rescued a fellow captive whom he may have later married, Constance Leonard. He and his mother, sister, and wife returned to the Wyoming Valley after the Rev. War.
