It appears that before 1830 there were very few Cochrans in Missouri. But by 1834 there were many including a Hiram Cochran in Lincoln County MO who may be related to my Hiram B. Cochran b. 1848 in AR. There were many Cochrans who came from ILL states that border Missouri. Some came from Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
By 1840 there was Miles in Taney county, John and John L. in Wayne county, Mary, Thomas and Spicer in Perry County, B.R. in Scott County, James in Jefferson, Andrew in Franklin, George and Charles in St.Charles and Hugh in St. Louis. Also, Thomas in Cole, and also in Lincoln were Joseph and Samuel; in Boone was John G. and Robert; Peter, James and Bryant in Marion; James, James and William S. in Randolph County and in Northeast Missouri there was,Brice, James, William, John, and James. There were a few others.
My Hiram Cochran's family came from Ill to AR and on into Missouri. He lived in Larewence County, Missouri and is buried in the Marionville cemetery. I would like to know if anyone's Cochran line in MO connects to mine. Hiram married Isabelle Chidester in 1874 in Perry County, Missouri
