Erected by Anthony Cochrane in memory of his sister Margaret Jane Cochrane who died 11th January 1847 aged 11 years. His mother Susanna Cochrane died 20th March 1848 aged 33 years. Also his father John Cochrane died 3rd July 1869 aged 57 years. Also nine children who died young. Also the above-named Anthony Cochrane who died
(5)th April 1873 aged 34 years. Sarah J. McCabe died 8th August 1830 aged 39 years.
[John Cochrane and his son Anthony were tinsmiths in Smithfield, occupying one of the outer sheds on the east side. Anthony took over from his father in the early 1860's. The family lived at 15, (later renumbered 25) Charlemont Street nearby.]
