I've been searching for information on a John M. Cochran(e) I know he came to New York from Scotland probably between 1820 and 1830. He married an Agnes (maiden name unknown) in 1830 NY. He had several children, I can find little about them either. List as follows:
Mary Cochrane b. 1831 NY
John Cochran b. 1833 NY
Elizabeth Cochran b. 1835 NY
Alexander Cochran b. 1837 NY
Agnes Cochran b. 1841 OH
James Cochran b. 1844 OH
Robert Burns Cochran b. 1845 OH (Served in the 23rd MO Infantry, Civil War)
Isabella Cochran b. 1848 OH
David Cochran b. 1850 OH
John M. and Agnes wound up in MO, Harrison county, where I believe they died (were on the 1880 census there) Robert moved to Denton County, Texas where he died between 1885 and 1890. Robert married Nancy Elisabeth Barrett, probably in MO.
If you have any information I would very much appreciate it. I would love to find out where in Scotland John and/or Agnes came from!
