I have traced my line of Cochrans to Alexander Cochrane who died in Caswell Co before 1779. I do not know when he was born or his fathers name. He was married to a woman named Esther who later married a man named Dickson after his death.
His son John Cochrane SR. was born in Hanover Co Virginia in 1757.Esther petitioned the court of Caswell Co for her widows dowry.She won this petition and 70 acres and the house were seperated from John Cochrans inheritance.
I have complete records from this point. John Cochran jr moved to Robertson Co Tn with a few of his brothers in 1800. This later became Cheatham Co.
John Cochrane Sr. died in1807 Caswell Co ,. NC
John Cochran Jr. died in 1833 in Robertson Co. Tn
I have much more from this point.Can someone help me continue further along. I would love to find the first immigrant from Scotland or Ireland.
