hi betty, my cochrane, cockrum, cockerhams came from eng to king william co, va- to morgan co, ga- to edgefield co, sc- to todd co ky- to dixon co tn- to jefferson co ill- to colorado by way of st louis & kansas, (this was my wandering ggreatgrandfather leroy adams cochrane- he changed spelling from cockrum to cochrane). he returned to ark where he was an apothocary in charleston, ark. later was druggist in ft. smith. my grandmother was born in cabool,mo. next child, victor b. 1879 in charleston, next, eunice in gravatte, ark, next, leroy in cabool, paul in gravatte, ruth in gravette. they then moved to tx & then to okla city where they died. leroy's wife was mary elizabeth goode. i know little to nothing about leroy's siblings. his father, john cockrum was married several times. the story is that leroy changed spelling due to a "fallout" between him & brother. he could have had a brother, hirum. susan
