Wayne. Sorry, guess I can't help you on the 1803 or 1830 birthdate. We have tracked Simon as much as we can through Census, tax, and real estate records from the time he married Hannah, thru the birth of all his children and his ultimate death in Kansas in 1875. We are really pretty sure he is our guy. We just don't know for sure when and where he was born. I can send you this information if you have a snail mail address.
We have some family pictures of Ira and Preshia's family that has your granddad in them, including the stone house granddad Ira and his ten boys built in Luray, KS. You would be welcome to a copy if you want.
