Good Morning Wayne, My apologies for not replying to your last e-mail. A high school football coach. I am impressed. There is a great demand for people like you my friend. Okay! You have mentioned your Simon born in 1830 and Mandy born in 1835 before. This really intrigues me. Can you document it? According to his obituary, my Simon was born April 21, 1812 in Ohio, married Hannah Dickman twenty years later. Their first child was born in 1833. Another source indicates he was born 1806, Bourbon County, KY to John Wesley Cochrun and Margaret Scott. We can trace them by the birth of their children thru Illinois, Iowa, and to Kansas where he died April 15, 1875 and is buried in Westmoreland, KS. Hannah is buried in Bucks Grove, KS west of Holton, KS. Incidently we just located the lot where she may be buried last week. We aren't sure which plot because there is no markers, but found the lot from measurements from an old cemetery plot map dated 1874. Unfortunately, we cannot prove it by documentation, but we believe Hannah Dickman, Hannah Dixon, and Mandy Dixon may be the same person.
I will be glad to send you everything we have on Ira, and Simon. I have a hard copy of everything so would be glad to copy and send them snail mail. All I need is an address. I think there is too much to try to get it over the internet. Have a good day. Larry
