I am looking for information on a Briant Cockrun (spellings have varied) This is how he is listed in the 1880 census:

Briant COCKRUN Self M Male W 35 TX Farmer KY KY
Jane COCKRUN Wife M Female W 35 MO Keep House KY KY
Joseph COCKRUN Son S Male W 14 TX Farm Lab TX MO
Volna COCKRUN Son S Male W 12 AR Farm Lab TX MO
George COCKRUN Son S Male W 8 AR At Home TX MO
John COCKRUN Son S Male W 5 AR At Home TX MO
Charles COCKRUN Son S Male W 1 AR At Home TX MO

Census Place Cove Creek, Washington, Arkansas

Other information includes:
Buried in Caney Cemetery, Cherokee Co, Ok. Marker contains name B. Cockrum Co. D Bourlands Texas Cavalry CSA.

The direct line from him to myself includes the sone listed above as Volna, who my family knew as Volney or Vee who married Bettie Jane Perceful, their son, Jess, who is listed in most genealocal indexes as a female married to George Latty (who is actually my g grandmother Georgia Latty), their son William Wallace Cochran, Sr., and my mother Judith Ann Cochran Wagnon.

If you have any information regarding Briant, especially siblings, parents or other ancestors, I would love to hear from you. I am really looking to try to trace my line back to Scotland at least, and as of now all I know is that Briant's parents were born in Kentucky, and that information is part of the census record.
