Thanks for your reply. It does seem that as time went on, accents blended, etc. that the name was shortened, but from what I can find on mine in England, Yorkshire, I think, they spelled it Cockcroft. It then evolved as the people stayed in the Southern U.S. Leslie Hill Notify Administrator about this message?
