I am researching gggfather b. 1840 Henry Co, AL and died 1925 Bagdad near Milton, FL, Santa Rosa Co. He married about abt. 1860-62 and had a daughter Nancy b. 1863. After war he married Elizabeth Hinote and they moved to NW FL. James' parents were William and Sarah J. Cockcroft. William died and Sarah married Wm. R. Davis in AL 1849. Sarah died and William married Elizabeth (Stanland?) James' 2 brothers died in war. I am looking for further info. on this family though James may be the only Cockcroft left surviving in his family after 1865. Daughter Nancy married (1) Whitehurst and (2) Sorrells and lived in Santa Rosa Co.
