I am writing an article regarding the last surviving Confederate veterans in NC. An A.S. Cockerham, last known alive in 1947 and residing in Surry County NC, is among the number I have so identified through pension records and the compiled service records of CS soldiers. He is believed to have served in the 33rd Regiment NC Troops.
I would like to identify his burial location, and any other personal data available.
