I believe we are looking for the same line. I know that Brambley was John Sr. Cockerham's first wife, and John is the name of one of his children. My line is through "Old John's son, David Bent. John Sr. later married Elizabeth. Old John seems to have first appeared in Barnwell Dist. SC in 1785 (tax roll) and then moved to Amite Co MS. He died there in 1843 at the age of 108 hence the name "Old John". If you are looking for connection's to the Tarvers, some people have done a wonderful job on the Tarver line, and much information is available through their home page. Feel free to contact me and we can talk. Looks like you are a cousin anyway. The Tarvers have a lot of Cockerham info on their home page. Notify Administrator about this message?
