All of the generations that I listed were Virginia, including Mecklenberg Co., Franklin Co., and Surry. Some of the place names, land boundaries, etc. include Turkey Cock Creek, Raccoon Branch, Chipoakes and Lownes Channel, Hog Island Marsh, Bedford's Creeke. The later generations (Charles Cockram et ux Ruth Radford 1840's or so) were in what is today Summers Co. West Virginia. That means that when Charles was born, it was still Virginia. My great-grandfather, Michael Alexander was born to in 1898 in Jumping Branch WV, Summers Co. The house has fallen down but most of the land is still in the family. I would love to have the address so we could compare some earlier records. Thanks so much!
