This is the "link" from Daniel Cockerham Sr. of Caroline and Halifax counties of Virginia to his believed? father William Cockerham:

The earliest known record which may refer to Daniel Cockerham Sr. consists of a deed in St. Margaret's parish in King William County, Virginia dated January 1722 when one Robert Baber transferred property to Edward Baber, the land bounding on Daniel and William Cockerham. There is speculation that this William could have been Daniel's father. There was a land grant recorded in Caroline County, Virginia in 1717 to Christopher Smith and William Cockerham.
