Carolyn, I am descended from Thomas Cockerham and Mary Valentine and Thomas and his first wife (possibly an Allen). His first wife died on the trip from SC to MS but their son James Ellison Cockerham made the trip so I am related through him on my grandmothers's (Lard)side and through Mary Valentine on my father's side (Allen). Let me know if you want the information that I have and if you have anything on Thomas' first wife I would be very interested to get it.
