Bob, Mary Valentine Cockerham is a sister of my 4G-grandfather, John Valentine, and daughter of my 5G-grandparents, Thomas and Elizabeth Valentine. I'm working on a project to trace and document all of the descendant lines from Thomas and Elizabeth, and my first phase is to follow the children lines who migrated from SC to MS and finally LA during the early 1800's. So far, I only have basic information about Thomas and Mary and their family. I have some gaps in my genealogy database for the Cockerhams that you might be able to help me with: 1. The identity of Thomas Cockerham's parents, and his birth information (e.g. date and location). 2. The marriage license information for Thomas and Mary. 3. I show that they had 7 known children: a. Elizabeth m. Lewis Allen b. Henry m. Charlotte Easley, Susan Harbour c. Mary m. Lawrence Nickens d. Ivy m. Eunice Albritton e. Cynthia m. T.H. Schickles f. Jane m. Henry Oates g. Saphronie m. David McDonald I need to confirm if these are accurate and determine if there were other children that I might have missed. 4. Census records where Thomas and Mary are listed. The only one I've found so far is the 1850 US census for Ward 11, East Baton Rouge Parish where they're listed under dwelling #1003. 5. I don't have the death date or burial location for Thomas or Mary. If you have any of these details plus source documentation for your information, I'd be grateful if you could share it with me. I'm also interested in knowing more about your ancestral line to Thomas and Mary. I can help you with information about Mary's siblings and ancestors, if you're interested. Regards, John Reid P.O.
