Bert: Read with interest your query about Ruth Coen, possibly the daughter of Andrew Jackson Coen & wife Cynthia Adeline Bennett (I have Benned). AJ did have a daughter named Ruth. According to old records that I have on the family, she married Lawrence Hasford. Then I found a posting (#236) from gr-granddaughter of AJ who also mentions Ruth as being Ruth Hosford (with an "o") with her son Larry or Lawrence Hosford still owning the building that once was a hotel run by AJ and wife. If you haven't contacted this descendant, you might want to do so. If it is the same Ruth, the Indian story may not be one that they wish to publize. There are at least 2 more Ruth Coens in this family (descendants of Rev. Josiah Coen of Franklin Co. IN) but they would be born abt. 1908, one living in Livingston Co. MO and the other in Wyoming. Do you have dates and location on the Ruth that you are searching for?
Also, if you are looking for a Jewish Coen, this isn't it. Rev. Josiah was a United Brethren minister.
