There is a Robert M Coffin listed in West Troy in the 1850 and 1860 censuses with wife (must be his second wife) Jane D. From Chuck C. Campbell's on-line tree, that could be Robert Moores Coffin (17 May 1803, Easton, NY - 27 May 1872, Goodland, IN), married to Jane Dubois on 12 Jan 1843.

According to the censuses, Robert had at least two children with his first wife, which were Jane R. (1827, NY) and Mary E. (1830, NY). With Jane Dubois he had George (1844 NY), Edward (1846 NY), Isabel (1848 NY), U(?) (1850 NY), Alice (1852 NY), and Emma (1856 NY).

Chuck Campbell indicates that Robert Moores Coffin was the son of Gideon Coffin and Elizabeth Moores. Gideon Coffin was the son of William Coffin and Lydia Gardner. William Coffin was the son of Benjamin Coffin and Jedidah Hussey, Benjamin Coffin the son of Nathaniel Coffin and Damarius Gayer, Nthaniel Coffin the son of James Coffin and Mary Severance, and James Coffin the son of immigrants Tristram Coffin and Dionis Stevens.
