There is a pedigree on the internet (Rootsweb) which gives an elaborate line from Richard Coffin (1280) of Alwington dwon to Tristram. The August 1994 volume of the Coffin Family Newsletter (CFN) #39 warns in "A PEDIGREE FOR TRISTRAM" that this pedigree has never been proven. Further, in CFN #39 and "COFFINS IN BRIXTON BEFORE NICHOLAS" , there is a claim that Peter and Mary (Boscawen) had no children. I believe that CFN could be in the Library of Congress.

These articles infer (or downright state) there has been nothing proven beyond Nicholas. There is no known link to Portledge Manor. One should read the articles for themselves.

I have been to Portledge Manor and stayed a couple of nights. I listened to John Pyne-Coffin's tales and said to hell with it. Nice spot on the coast though.
