The Turnip King (again)--JW of Brunswick 1839-1908

Been prowling thru the Brunswick newspaper(s) (1853-1960). Have discovered that a lot of his offspring were baseball players of various abilities--They played high school or townteam baseball. Even found one that played in the 1880's--William Bertrand Coffin of Freeport aka "Billy the Barber" of Mast Landing (Freport).

However, the biggest shock I got was reading "Turnip's" obit of 1908, in which he claimed 27 brothers and sisters He (added to the mix) would make 28 offspring of the elusive Thomas Coffin. Now I've been studying records for about 30 years and I'm ELEVEN (11) short of that number. Needless to say I am questioning my research ability. Can anyone out there in cyberworld furnsih any light on this matter.
