Dear Mr. Carr,

Thanks so much for responding to my query. I have Barton, Bailey W., and Barnet Dawson listed in the Stafford militia records in 1814. A Spencer Dawson was included in 1797 and Henry in 1824. I have biographical footnotes for all these except Henry Dawson. Do you know anything about him?

I usually think of the Colvins as being in Fauquier County, but there seems to have been a group of them that lived near Aquia Run, perhaps on what is now the Marine Corps base. My husband's great grandfather, John Wesley Knight, married a Colvin.

Thanks again--every tidbit helps!

Jerrilynn
