Kerry or Tipperary to US via Canada? to Chicago then Nebraska

Thomas Corrigan stated on his Civil War registration he was from Kerry but couldn't find him in any Kerry databases. Did find a baptism in Tipperary that matched his birthdate b. 06 Apr 1831. At some point Thomas migrated to US/Canada and married Rosetta Hampton (b. 20 Jun 1847 in Canada.) Their children: Catherine, John, Mary, Julia, Robie, Thomas, & Henrietta were born in Chicago - the family moved to Sand Holt Nebraska in 1895. Looking for ties back to Ireland and siblings/parents to both Thomas & Rosetta.
