[ This name also appears under the form of Covell, Covill, Cowel, Cowil, Cowill, Crowel. I have found other spellings of Covell; Coval, Covel, Coville, Covil. John Covell who is the father of the Chautauqua Covells name was spelled COVEL and Covil in the Genealogical Notes of Harwich Families by Josiah Paine, Harwich, Mass.
