William Cowper the poet was a descendant of John Dunne or believed to be. His family home was called New Berkhamstead. I am not sure of the exact location. My sister has an old text of his works that consists mostly of letters he wrote. I do know that he was preoccupied with death and had a period of insanity.
I am somehow related but I have never been able to follow the links back. My Grandfather was George Cowper, his father born in England was George Cooper.
