I believe that I have traced my Crew family back to Charles J. Crew born about 1811 in either North Carolina or South Carolina (It is listed both ways in the census' I have found.) He was a Reverand in the Baptist Church. He is buried in the New Salem Cemetery in Louisiana. I know he had several children, among them: Henry M. Crew - (Died in Civil War)- Born: abt. 1837 Charles J. Crew - (Served in Civil War) - Born: abt. 1844 John W. Crew - (Died in Civil War) - Born: abt. 1841 William W. Crew - Born: abt. 1845 Robert Crew - Born: abt.1847 Mary Crew - Born: abt. 1853 Elisha Crew - Born: abt. 1855 (I think there are at least 4 more.) I believe Elisha is my GG Grandfather. I would like some help identifying all Charles' children and who his parents might be. (I have found him in all the census' that have family names, but with out other names I can not seem to identify his father.) Also, I found in the 1850 Alabama Census a Robert Crew and was wondering if Robert and Charles were related. (possibly brothers?) Mr. Robert also seems to have an Elisha and now it may be possible that this is my GG Grandfather. Any help would be much appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
