Janice, you are correct about your cousin's wife's genealogy. I descend from Rozella's brother, David Henry Crews, who married Samantha E. Enlow, and moved to Stafford Co., Kansas, near Macksville, in 1806. John Crews, born in 1736 in New Kent Co., Va. was a brother of David Crews who moved to Madison Co., Ky. John was a surveyor, and married Sarah Redman, dau of William Redman Sr.of Charlotte Co., Va. in early 1764. William Redman Sr. was a surveyor and land owner. John's parents were, David Crews and first wife, Mary Stanley. John and Sarah were in Fayette Co., Ky.by 1792 and were in Madison Co., Ky. in 1800. I don't know where they died. Their son, Redman Crews, was a Rev. Soldier in Col. Henry Lee's Light Horse Troops in S.C. and was injured. He settled on his Ky Military Land Grant in Cumberland&Barren Cos, Ky. in 1789, and filed for his Pension in 1832 in Carroll Co., Tennessee. He was asked why he did not file in 1818 and he stated that he had lived in Kentucky many years and did not hear about the Pensions until he was in Tennessee. His son, George, was with him, then George and wife, Elizabeth Holloway, settled in Montgomery Co., Missouri, where we think Redman died. We have never found his grave. Redman had many cousins who remained in Southside Virginia and others moved to Tennessee. He had one brother, David, who lived and died in Patrick Co., Va. and probably had other brothers and sisters but they are not yet identified.
