I do believe that your Wiley P. (Parker) Crews was the son of a Cabel or Cable Crews b 1818 and Narcissa Parker. They can be found on the Johnson Co., MO census in 1870 & 1860 (Caleb Cruse). In 1850 Narcissa and their children were living in the home of her father Wiley Parker in Henry County, MO. Cabel Crews is found living in a town called Rough & Ready in CA - it appears he is a miner in the CA Gold Rush. Not sure how but I feel Cabel is a descendant of Thomas Crews, Sr. 1760-1828 who came to Howard County, MO from Madison County, KY. Thomas Crews, Sr. named several children in his will: James, Thomas (my line), David, Joseph, Betsey (Mobely), Hiram, & Enoch. My Thomas Jr. named a son Cable but he was born in 1824 not 1818. I suspect that your Cable Crews might have been the son of Enoch Crews from an unknown first wife - Enoch married Sally Tolson in 1828 when he was 31. Your Cable Crews named a son Enoch. Living in the same town (Tebo)in 1850 is a Randolph Crews who was the son of my Thomas Crews, Jr. I am dec. from Aramintia Crews 1818-ca1847 (daughter of Thomas Crews, Jr. & Sally Blackwell). Aramintia married Hampton Carson - brother of Kit Carson the famous scout. Would be happy to share what I have whit103@aol.com
