I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A CONNECTION WITH WHAT MUST BE THE MANY DESCENDANTS OF THIS LINE OF CREWS. Josephine (Johnson) Crews had a long first marriage to William L. Crews b. April 1862 AR. They were living in June 1900 in Harris Twp, Stone Co. AR. and had 12 children before something happened to her husband. I do not know what happened to her husband Wm. L. Crews, but by the April 1910 census, she remarried into the WARREN family I am researching. She brought the younger half of the Crews children into the 2nd marriage and they were raised by stepfather Asa Hattley Warren b. July 1857 GA (son of John Warren Jr from Heard Co GA). Asa Warren had 9 children of his own before he remarried Josephine. Then Asa Warren and Josephine (Johnson) (Crews) Warren had one child together: Lonnie Edward Warren b. 24 Jan 1912 Mt. Olive, Izard Co. AR.

Nancy ‘Clementine’ CREWS b. 29 June 1883 Buffalo City, Marion Co. AR d. 16 Aug 1964 Mountain View, AR m. 20 July 1902 Columbus Berry SUTTERFIELD. She is buried in Levisy Flat Cemetery, Stone Co. AR. This cemetery is adjacent to the Levisy Flat Assembly of God Church. ‘Clementine’ Crewshad 14 children, only 10 of whom survived. When she died in 1964 she had 44 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and only Claud Crews and Lonnie Warren, brother and half-brother, were still alive.

I have an old photo of Asa Warren and would like to make contact with this family to learn more about the 2nd marriage life of Asa Warren and Josephine Crews Warren. Asa Warren died in 1931, and her son Lonnie Warren indicated that she had a 3rd marriage to an (unknown) WILSON before 1937. Email 101heath@comcast.net
