Columbia County, Florida Marriage Records, Oak Grove Cemetery Records (Columbia
Co.), Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia, Vol. 8, page 70. John Crews was the second
wife of Sarah Williams. She had previously been married to James Prevatt who
died as a prisoner of war at Ft. Delaware towards the end of the Civil War. By
her first marriage to James Prevatt she had five children: John M. "Jackson"
Prevatt, William Kell Prevatt, George Elias "Lum" Prevatt, Frances Prevatt and
Elizabeth Prevatt. Sarah Williams Prevatt Crews had 11 children total from her
marriages. A tombstone in memory of her has been erected at Oak Grove Cemetery
by John Burnett. Descendants of hers and both of her husbands are numerous in
Columbia and Baker Counties and throughout Florida. .
