Five Immigrant Ancestors and DNA

The Crews/Crew/Cruse/Screws DNA study now has tested 23 individuals from families throughout the US. Test results indicate that the participants come from five different immigrants to the US. Through the testing twelve participants now know they share a common immigrant ancestor from Virginia, and are using the study results to add new generations to their family tree. My husband's genealogical trail ended with James A. Crew(s) born about 1815 in Virginia. The DNA testing suggests he is connected to the Quaker Crew(s) family of early Virginia. Only DNA could establish this connection since the paper trail ended in 1815.

As administrator of the project, I invite you to join the study and help further our research. The test is easy, just 3 swabs to the inside of your cheek using a kit supplied by the Family Tree DNA lab. If you join through the Crews/Crew/Cruse/Screws DNA study by 8/31/08 the price for a 37 marker test is only $119.00. This is a substantial discount. Note: This test is only for males with the surname Crews, or a variation of Crews.

Please write me at vcrews@mac.com if you have any questions.

Kindest regards,

Vanessa Crews
