I know of 6 instances where the Ragain/Blackwell and Crewse family had intermarriage relationships.

1. Mary Ragain married Samuel L. Blackwell (1835 -bef. 1900) on 10 Sep 1859 Monroe County, Tennessee and they were the parents of at least 12 children: William A., James T. "Jim", Cordelia (Cordella) Ellen, Elizabeth "Lizzie" A., Rachel Melinda Jan, Silas Grant, Samuel Gaius, John I., George Albert, Sarah L., Margaret Oma (or Oma Margaret) & Mary A. Blackwell.
***It is said they were the parent's of 13 children, I only have 12 kids----if you have the 13th, I'd like to get the info on the 13th child.
Cordelia Ellen Blackwell (1866-1902) and Rachael Malenda Jane Blackwell ( 1870-1945) were Mary & Sam Blackwell's daughters and they married into the Crewse family.

Their children: Thomas, Samuel, Charles Cleveland "Charley" & Mary Ann(e) Crewse.
m. James Marion (Martin) Farmer in 1890 Wright County, Missouri
Their children: Nettie, Lucy & Edna Farmer.
Melinda Jan Blackwell
m. John William Grant Crewse in 1887.
Their children: Nancy Arilda, Mary & Cordelia Crewse.
My line comes down through Elizabeth A. Blackwell (1868-1905) sister to Cordelia and Rachel Blackwell.

m. Rufus Marion Crewse (1820-1889) on 15 Apr 1883 Mountain Grove, Missouri.
Their children: Thomas, Samuel, Charles Cleveland "Charley" & Mary Ann(e) Crewse.
****Mary was born after Rufus died.
****Cordelia was his second wife. Rufus first wife: Myra (Mira) W. Wassom.
m. James Marion (Martin) Farmer (1843-1926) in 1890 Wright County, Missouri
Their children: Nettie, Lucy & Edna Farmer.
****James Farmer was m. ___________ (Unknown) and they had at least one daughter: Mary Elizabeth Farmer.
It is said they actually had 7 children? I only have 3 for James & Cordelia, can I get the other names & info from you?
Rufus Crewse was the father of James Addison Crewse (1849-1912) and the grandfather of John William Grant Crewse (1870-1957).

4. Margaret C. Ragain b. 1843 (sister to Mary Ragain and aunt to her children Cordelia and Rachael Blackwell ) married Jonathon Simpson they were the parents of: William Joseph Simpson
Margaret was also aunt to William Bogard Ragain’s daughter Rachael Elizabeth Ragain.

5. William Joseph Simpson (son of Margaret C. Ragain and Jonathon Simpson) married Mary Pensa Jane Crewse. Their children: Sarah Emma, James Rufus Homer, Hazel, Marshall Erastus "Rass", Opal, Lucile, Virgil, Arvel, Gladys & Mildred Simpson
Mary Pensa Jane Crewse was the daughter of James Addison
Crewse and his first wife Malissa Catherine Wilson who had at least 3children: Infant son, Mary Pensa Jane & James Samuel Crewse.

A. Rachael Elizabeth Ragain married James Addison Crewse
(she was his second wife) they had 5 children. She was also step mother to his daughtter Mary Pesna Jane Crewse.
B. James Addison Crewse was the son of Rufus Crewse and
Myra Wasson and an uncle to
John William Grant Crewse
